Smoothies
Smoothies are a delicious alternative to milkshakes or yogurts. You can add any mixture of fruits, vegetables, cream, milk, yoghourts fruit juices, apple sauce and so on. Just use your imagination. Depending on your choice of ingredients, they make a good filling meal-alternative for slimmers instead of the dreadful Slimfast shakes, and they are also good for vegans who can simply substitute soya milk for cows milk in any of the recipes.
I have a smoothie every morning for my breakfast as I can't face cereal or a cooked meal first thing in the morning.
In the Autumn (Fall) I pick fresh blackberries and blend a handful with a banana, a small carton of plain yogurt and a dash of soya milk - scrummy and full of vitamins.
I have a huge selection of smoothie recipes to choose from, but please try out some of your own, it's great fun to experiment.
