Savoury Mince

This is a warm and satisfying meal which new vegetarians and meat eaters like. (Don't tell them but this was adapted from a meaty meal my Grandma used to make!)

Ingredients

Packet of Beanfeast savoury mince or frozen mince substitute or packet mince. Basically you need mince veggie-style!

Tin of sliced carrots
Large tin baked beans
Sliced, fried onions
Vegetarian gravy granules OR half a jar (or tin) of tomato pasta sauce

Method

Cook your mince as per instructions

If using the jar of sauce, add to the mince now and heat through

Add the baked beans, onions and tinned carrots.

Heat and stir thoroughly.

As I'm English I also add a spoonful of marmite and a shake of Worcestershire sauce, but add any savoury sauces of your choice to taste.

If you didn't add the pasta sauce, thicken the mixture with the gravy granules, stirring very well.

My favourite way to serve this is with unbuttered toast. Yes really. If no one's looking, cut the toast into triangles, scoop the mixture up with your toast and eat like that. Naughty but nice! Otherwise you can serve with potatoes, but try the toast first (and it's quicker).
